Lord of Lords Ministries and Community Center was founded on January 16, 1990 by Pastor Calvin Glass. Born on January 18, 1959, in Detroit, MI, Pastor Glass was raised in a faith-filled household by Pastor Clyde and First Lady Loraine Glass. He preached his first sermon in 1984, answering God's call to ministry with a heart for community service and spiritual leadership.

Pastor Glass’s journey of faith and ministry has been marked by a deep commitment to teaching God's word, guiding others through their spiritual journeys, and building a community rooted in love and faith. His passion for connecting people with Christ led to the establishment of Lord of Lords Ministries, which has grown into a cornerstone for faith and outreach in the Detroit community.

A Family of Faith

Pastor Glass is blessed to share his life and ministry with First Lady Nina (Oakes) Glass, whom he lovingly refers to as his greatest support and spiritual partner. Pastor Nina was born on August 19, 1962, in New York City to Gloria (Oakes) Booker and Fredrick Oakes (Bilial Farid).

Pastor Nina’s heart for ministry extends beyond the pulpit. She has a gift for crafting, crochet, and designing T-shirts, but her true passion lies in intercession, praise dancing, and teaching God’s word. Her desire is to see others develop a real and meaningful relationship with Jesus Christ. Pastor Nina’s vision is to one day open her own retail shop, combining her creative talents with her heart for ministry.

Together, Pastor Calvin and First Lady Nina are proud parents of eight children and grandparents to over 20 grandchildren. Their family remains the foundation of their faith and ministry, setting an example of God’s love and grace in action.

A Lifelong Commitment to Learning and Teaching

Pastor Glass has dedicated his life to spiritual growth and education. He holds four degrees:

Associate of Arts in Urban Studies – William Tyndale Bible College
Bachelor of Arts in Urban Studies – William Tyndale Bible College
Master of Arts in Theological Studies – Liberty Theological Seminary
Master of Divinity in Theological Studies – Liberty Theological Seminary

On September 25, 2021 he received his Doctor of Ministry (D.Min) with a focus on Theology and Apologetics at Liberty University. Pastor Glass believes that a solid foundation in God’s word is essential for personal and community transformation.

Building a Legacy of Faith

Through Lord of Lords Ministries, Pastor Calvin and First Lady Nina Glass have created a legacy of faith, service, and love. Their ministry continues to thrive as a beacon of hope and guidance for individuals and families in Detroit and beyond. With unwavering faith, they remain committed to spreading the gospel, nurturing relationships, and guiding others toward a closer walk with Christ.

An Author and Spiritual Guide

Pastor Glass is also an accomplished author. His first self-published book, "I'm On the Right Road Now: Keys to Understanding Your Spiritual Journey," reflects his desire to help others navigate their faith journeys with confidence and clarity. He has become known as the family eulogist, having eulogized over 50 close relatives—a testament to his ability to bring comfort and hope during difficult times.

Pastor Glass is currently working on three additional books that reflect his passion for ministry and teaching:

My Sermon Notes – Insights and reflections from years of preaching.
Racial Reconciliation Theology: Building Better Relationships – A thoughtful exploration of unity and faith in a divided world.
